Sources and licences

Where the word lists on this site come from.

English

Two sources are combined. The list is taken from the database at size 85 (including rare and archaic words) with the American, British (-ise and -ize), Canadian and Australian spellings, without abbreviations, names and Roman numerals. It is combined with the ENABLE word list (enable1.txt), which is in the public domain. Only entries written in lowercase are used, accents are removed and words outside 2 to 15 letters are left out.
